Catherine left us to continue her soul's journey in eternity on December 24th; surrounded by the love and care of her family and the wonderfully compassionate medical staff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Those of us left, grateful for her inspiration of love, kindness and caring and that her suffering from the pain of cancer has ceased are: Carl her one and only husband, friend and partner; William (Sujata) her oldest son; Cynthia her oldest daughter; Justin (Kristi) the middle son; Nicole (Mat Claxton) her youngest daughter; Nigel (Quinn) her youngest son. Then there are the four grandchildren who are the light of her life and the joy of her heart: Kiran the son of William and Sujata; Fatima the daughter of Cynthia and Jan; with Madeleine and Izaak the daughter and son of Nicole and Mathew. Also there are her twelve brothers and sisters who felt Catherine to be the big sister with all the answers to life's complexities. They are William (Tina); Doris (Jim) Stone; Rose (Terry) Murphy; Linda (Guy) MacIsaac; Patricia (Winston) Cadwell; Jerry (Darlene); Christina (Wayne) Rideout; Kevin (Julia); Jeannie (Leonard) Duffenais; Barbra (Gerry) Power; Joseph (Kim). Kay was predeceased by her youngest sister Judy and by her parents Gladys and William. The funeral mass was held at St. Stephen's Parish on December 28th with interment at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery. Our family would like to thank our friends and neighbours for the many expressions of kindness and comfort that were shown to us during our most difficult time. We also have to thank Russell's Funeral Service for their wonderful professionalism and empathy in handling the funeral arrangements. Father Maurice O'Quinn who has always been there for our family and especially so, now, when the strength of our hearts has left us.
